Growth. People act like it is simple to grow a garden or a business. It takes a lot of work and even more help. This miniature Japanese eggplant took at least the efforts of 10 people to get here, in my garden. When I got tired of the story I repeatedly told myself that I grew up in an apartment in NYC, without a green thumb, I realized I needed to ask the experts and listen to their advice.
New soil, less weeds, regular watering, right spot for an appropriate amount of sun…gardening is now possible for me. It might have taken me a few decades to grow an eggplant, yet this shattered the limiting beliefs I had around growing food and reminded me to stay a student. Anything is possible, if you do the work, make this your summer of growth.
